    Corps

    Les lions ont une musculature imposante et très développée. Leur corps est allongé et trapu sur d'épaisses pattes musclées. Celles-ci permettent de mettre à terre des proies pouvant faire plusieurs fois leur propre taille. Leur mâchoire est puissante pour être capable de déchirer l'épaisse peau des proies (telles que les gnous), et pour rester accrochée sur une proie qui chercherait à faire tomber le prédateur de son dos. Les muscles des pattes sont également capables d'infliger de sérieux dommages. Un grand coup de patte d'un lion est assez puissant pour provoquer la rupture des organes internes et même pour casser des os
